Meet Monica-Pending!

Monica (and her mate Puritan) were rescued from the freezing cold, winter streets of Detroit along with their eight newborn puppies. Monica was feral, and has slowly adjusted to her new indoor life in a safe foster home. Her puppies found furever homes easily, but Monica needed a lot of work and adjusting to do before she could be ready to find a furever home. Unfortunately, Monica was also heartworm positive and had to undergo treatment for this horrible, preventable disease. This has been completed and she is completely healthy.
Monica is making progress every week at her foster home where she is becoming more trusting of people. Monica will require a home with another dog as she still feels most secure when she has another dog around her. She will need adopters who have the experience and patience to continue socializing her and continue her training. If interested in meeting her please email our rescue.

Home FurEver is a non-profit foster based dog rescue seeking foster parents, volunteers and donations. Please see our website for more information.

Please note that Home FurEver does not post applications on line. We will receive all applications in person at local adoption events in order to conduct an in-person interview. All members of the household should be present for the application and interview process. All applicants require a home inspection and vet check - Please note that we cannot drive more than an hour to do a home inspection. We do require a fenced back yard for all bully breeds. Some dogs may require households with children over a certain age.

Ask yourself some questions before you consider bringing a new dog home. 1. Am I ready for a LIFE LONG commitment? 2. Am I prepared for a rowdy puppy? 3. Am I prepared to potty train? 4. Is this the right breed for me or my family? 5. Can I afford the food and vet care for this dog? 6. Is it best to have a totally fenced yard? 7. Will I make a commitment to obedience training?
