Meet Chinook (Anchorage)

Chinook is a Moluccan cockatoo. A rehoming fee of $500 is being asked. He comes with a very nice, large cage.

Chinook's owner says:

"Chinook is a 22 year old Moluccan Cockatoo. He needs to re-homed due to changes in our living situation with the addition of several new family members (including a newborn).

Chinook came to our home just over 2 years ago and we have done very well together. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a white, actually slightly peach colored, parrot. But in truth, I came to see that he is actually absolutely beautiful, especially when he spreads out his large wings and dances.

He has quite a personality. He is very social. He does well with men. He is a “ladies man” however and is very fond of women. He is extremely smart. He has learned a number of tricks. And he absolutely loves music and will dance and whistle to a good beat!

I have a large cage that he stays in at night, many, many parrot toys, and food and nuts that are his and would come with him. I also have a great set of instructional DVDs that were extremely helpful for me when I realized I had an extremely intelligent and complex new creature I was responsible for and I needed some training.

This is NOT a “tweety bird”! He is, as I said, highly intelligent, can be ear piercingly loud, and reduces 2x4s to tooth picks for fun! Cockatoos are not for the faint of heart. But if you’re a bird lover, he’s a wonderful bird to have as part of your family."
