HISTORY: HOP SING was brought in as a stray by a good Samaritan because he was covered in wounds on his face and body. These have now healed and once his hair grows back, he will be a handsome cat with a lot of love to give his new human. While being treated for his wounds, HOP SING was also found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats he has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households”. According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species.
