Coolie Jack Russell Terrier Manhattan, KS

Coolie is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She has lived with the same family her whole life until very recently. Coolie loves other dogs and does great with cats, though she will decide to chase sometimes when the mood strikes. She does have a prey drive for squirrels and rabbits so she should not be left attended with pet rodents or bunnies. She does need a secure fence if she is not on leash or she will take off after a squirrel. She adores her humans. She is very, very snuggly and loves to give kisses. She hopes to find a home that will let her sleep in bed at night. Coolie does not like to be picked up or restrained in any way, she thinks that is totally scary and will do her best to escape. She is also sometimes bad about trying to dart out of doors when you open them. For these reason she should not go to a home with kids under 12. Coolie is quite overweight at around 20 lbs but has already made some progress losing some lbs since she came in. Coolie does fine in a crate once you get her in there, which can be a challenge. However she does not need to be crated while you are away, she is not destructive and typically does not potty in the house while you are out. She has not been very vocal with us so far. Coolie is a great little girl looking for a patient home that can help her adjust to living with and loving a new family.
