Meet Lucky

Lucky is truly a MIRACLE PUPPY and lucky to be alive! This little guy was from a litter of 7 who were all covered in sarcoptic mange when we got them (picture 3). His little tail was also broken (we do not know how) prior to us getting him so it has a little 90 degree angle to it (it gives him personality)! In addition, three of the puppies in his litter had eye issues, Lucky's being the worst. Several puppies were born with entropion which means their eyelids turned in on themselves thereby rubbing the surface of the cornea. Unfortunately by the time we saved Lucky from the local county kill shelter, this eye had already formed a a bad ulcer which ruptured soon after. Despite three eye surgeries and trips to the canine eye specialist, Lucky's vision in his right eye could not be regained. However that does not stop him one bit! He is a VERY happy, healthy, playful puppy who ADORES people! As can be surmised by his "AFTER" photos, Mr. Lucky is now a gorgeous little guy...a mere shadow of his former self! Due to all the specialized care and handling Lucky required to get healthy, he is super people friendly! He also ADORES toys as can be seen in his video! In addition, he loves playing fetch (you just have to throw on the side he can see)! Lucky was born around 12/24/15 and weighs 24 pounds at 15 weeks old. This boy walks well on a leash, is crate trained, learning sit and goes potty outside very well. Lucky is looking for a home as special as he is...one where he will live inside as part of the family, sleep in the bed with his mom at night and have a big fenced yard for interactive playtime. His wishlist also includes weekly trips to PetSmart to pick out his favorite toy (and treats) and maybe even training classes so he can hone his canine skills to impress your friends! Lucky's eye is doing fine now but there is a chance of having to remove the eye if it develops a problem (like Glaucoma, for instance)...so Lucky needs an adopter devoted to any special needs that may arise. If you have been looking for a very special puppy, one who can warm your heart and provide endless love and puppy kisses, you can download an adoption application at www.caresga,org. We DO adopt up North and all over the US so please feel free to contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for details! Continue reading to see everything that is included with his adoption fee:
Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip as well as 30 days of free pet insurance is also included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
