Leon - pending Shepherd Mix Papillion, NE

This beautiful athletic boy is Leon, a 2 year old 60 lb shepherd mix. He came into the shelter because his owners moved into an apartment and could not take him with them. He was heartworm positive upon arrival to the shelter, then put into a foster home and treated. Leon was then adopted and returned due to his inability to get along with the resident cats. From his foster and adoption experience, he has had quite a bit of housetraining. He does well with all dogs no matter the size. Leon can get too excited with play, so children 10 years old and up would be more suitable. Leon knows the basic commands: sit, down and shake. He would benefit from more leash work training. He kenneled well in a secure wire kennel in his foster home. His foster mom stated that he is very sweet and that he does have a high arousal drive. So if you have an active house we can give you calming tips for him. Otherwise, a calmer home environment may work best for Leon. He's an active boy that would need a 6 ft privacy fence. A perfect day for Leon would be to play with other dogs and to hang outside exploring your yard. He is now ready for adoption and would love to be included in your family activities.
