Joanie aka Jonas Domestic Short Hair Mix Falls Church, VA

Joanie is about 3 years old and weighs about 13 pounds.

Joanie is a sweetheart kitty. She had a bit if a rough start on life so she can be a little shy at first. She was abandoned by her family when they moved away. Suddenly, homeless and living on the streets, she mostly (but not always) found friendly people who took care of her as best they could. During the winter of 2015, Joanie was trying to stay warm underneath a car and was burned by the underside of a car muffler. This burn cause her to to loose some of the fur on her back. She is fully recovered though her fur will in that area will not be growing back. We think it gives her a bit of mystique and you know she has a story to tell.

One of LDCRF’s fosters found out about Joanie and took her in. She knew that with the right loving environment, Joanie would blossom into a great cat and she is well on her way. Over the past few months, she has come out of her shell but will need a patient family to help her continue gain kitty confidence. She loves to be held and stroked. We have observed that she would do best as an only cat as well so that she can be the center of attention. She does seem to be wary of small children and is not comfortable.
