River - lap cat in need of a lap Domestic Short Hair Medfield, MA

River is a great cat and he loves people. He also enjoys catnip, but his favorite activity is sitting in laps and he is quite insistent about it if a visitor tries to ignore him. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle in your lap and purr away. If you put him down, he hops right back up. Truly a sweetheart of a cat. He also has a soft and very plush coat.

He was scared around his foster family's dog, so may do better in a home without a dog. River is a bit of a bully with other cats, so he does need to be an only kitty. He is approximately 2 years old.

If a cat is listed on our website, that means that cat is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our adoption fee for adult cats is $125. Our kitten adoption fee (cats up to 6 months old) is $160 for a single kitten or $260 for a pair. The adoption fee includes the first set of vaccines, dewormer, microchip, combo testing (for FeLV and FIV) and spaying/neutering when old enough.
