Hey! Over here! I’m Gretta and I’m approximately 2.5 years old and 16 lbs. There is no doubt that I’m a beautiful Jack Russell Terrier and I’m hoping you would like to get to know me!

Since entering foster care, my attitude and spirit have improved greatly and memories of my former life are quickly fading away. It can take me a bit of time to trust my new surroundings, but once I do I completely blossom and steal your heart. I’m also getting comfortable meeting new people and often greet them with lots of kisses.

It is NO secret that I love my tennis ball!!! I can entertain myself for hours tossing my ball around and love when you throw them for me in the house and out in the yard. I love tennis balls so much that my foster mom has to hide them on me at night so that I’ll stop playing. I can be an early riser and love to get my mom out of bed to start a new day of fun! I also love to rumble and wrestle with my foster dad, to get out my extra energy. He’s so fun to play with and I know not to hurt him. When I’m looking to relax I prefer to sleep on my blanket on the couch, in my crate with the door open and sometimes in bed curled up with you.

When I’m looking for some extra love and attention, I look up at you with my big brown eyes which seems to work every time :) I have excelled in my obedience classes and know commands like come, sit and drop it. I may try to give you a nip while you dry me off from being outside or after a bath, but I’m just letting you know what I don’t like.

Gretta is working on overcoming her past and will need a gentle, understanding and experienced family who will let her come to trust you at her own pace; although recently, that may only take a few seconds! While she loves to say hello and meet everyone, Gretta needs a home with no children, no cats and probably no dogs. To be sure she keeps moving forward, Gretta needs a calm and low stress home with no yelling or harsh training methods. She has thrived with positive reinforcement! A home with a backyard would be ideal, as she loves to chase her ball inside and outside. Gretta is a sensitive little girl that is a great listener and looking to share her heart with you.
