The Friends of League City Animal Shelter rescues animals from the shelters and places them in foster homes, where they can receive the love and care they need. We hold adoption events every weekend.
Saturdays:   League City (I-45 @ 646) PETSMART (next to The Arms Room) 11 am - 3 pm,
Sundays:     Clear Lake PETCO (Bay Area Blvd @ Space Center) 12 - 4 pm
You can download an ADOPTION APPLICATION from our PETFINDER HOMEPAGE and submit it to us via email, or at the adoption event. Applications submitted via email can often be pre-approved, meaning you can go to the event and take your pet home that day. We cannot guarantee same-day approval of applications submitted at the event, because there may not be a volunteer working who is authorized to approve applications. Please note that with an approved application, we can sometimes arrange a meeting during the week - Just ask!
Here is the link to our forms. The pdf file contains our one-page FAQs, the two-page Adoption Application, and the one-page Adoption Contract (filled out after approval, and usually after you've met the pet, and made a final decision).

NOTE: Rescued cats and kittens are exposed to a lot, both on the streets and in the shelter. While we provide them with care and some vaccinations, they have not been fully examined by a veterinarian. Your adopted pet needs a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption.
For more cat and kitten care information, ask your Vet, or visit with our Friends of LCAS volunteers. Meanwhile, go to www.healthypet.com, click on Pet Care, then Cat Care. Also good, is www.catchannel.com - click on Cat Behavior or Cat Health. For local behavior help, go to www.hspca.org, point to the link Resources, then click on Behavior Information. Here you will find many helpful tips on behavior issues with cats and kittens. At the end of some articles, they provide a phone number, to call their Animal Behavior Specialists, for FREE advice!
You can also get pet-behavior advice from ASPCA experts 24 hours a day, right from your computer. Their animal behaviorists offer possible solutions to a wide range of issues, at no charge. Simply type your pet's behavior problem into their easy-to-use database, and you'll receive step-by-step advice—without leaving home:  http://www.aspca.org/Pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist
For indepth medical information, go to www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/ - they are the cat experts!
