Chelsea is a small dog with a big-dog personality. She loves car rides, toys, attention, long walks, and, oh yes, TREATS! She has beautiful eyes and big ears that flick expressively when you talk to her.

Chelsea walks well on leash. She usually needs a reminder at the beginning of the walk not to pull, and then she walks politely. She knows "sit" and "wait" at gates. If you forget at the gate, she will remind you by sitting and not going through until you give her a treat!

She is crate-trained. She has been left alone in an airline (not wire) crate for up to 2 hours, and will sleep quietly overnight in a crate in the bedroom. She is mostly house-trained, but needs supervision and frequent airings when she is not crated. Chelsea is a little uncomfortable around small children when they come over her so older kids would be recommended.

With her wonderful temperament and great start training, Chelsea should transition easily into almost any home. She is waiting patiently to find her forever family to have fun with.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

VETTING NOTE: Double Dog Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.

HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
