LINCOLN IS A YORKIE/POSSIBLE SCHNAUZER MIX!

1/5/16 - Hi, I’m Abe Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. OOPS, wrong Lincoln. Let’s start over. Hi, I’m Lincoln, a yorkie/schnauzer mix born on April 27th of 2015. Seems some bright soul did not spay my mom, so when she was surrendered to rescue pregnant, my siblings and I were born residents of Yorkie Haven Rescue.

I was being fostered in Texas, but recently moved to a new foster home here in Louisiana. I am in a foster home with large dogs and cats and do fine with both, but would really benefit from another pup my size to play with.

Since I’m still a puppy, I stay in my crate when foster mom or dad isn’t home, but would also do well in a bathroom or behind a baby gate. I love attention from my humans and love to sit in their laps and to give kisses. I also LOVE toys. All kinds of toys.

I wear a belly band (diaper for male dogs) currently as I am in potty training mode, but I do pretty good if I must say so myself. That is, of course, if you do your job and bring me out enough. Since I am still puppy, sometimes I have my ADD going on and get distracted and don’t hear you call me sometimes, but for the most part I am attentive and love hearing foster mom call my name and readily come for attention or a treat.

I’m not what you would call a nuisance barker, but I will definitely alert my family to strange noises or anything that I don’t like by barking when I feel the need.

I am a very sweet natured, loving, sensitive, low key, submissive little guy. I do not have any alpha tendencies whatsoever, so would do fine with another pup such as myself, or one that might want to boss me a little. I don’t really care, as long as I have someone to play with and a family to love me.

Foster mom says that she has been able to trust me more than she usually would with any of her other foster puppies. I am not overly energetic, but am not a couch potato. I truly enjoy playing, but also truly enjoy cuddling. I am going to make some lucky family feel as if they have won the lottery if they are chosen to own me. But, that’s just the way I roll. I like to spread love to everyone I come into contact with.

9/17/15 - Lincoln is one of 6 siblings that was born into rescue when their mom, Gracie, was surrendered pregnant. Gracie is a yorkie, and we are assuming that dad was a Schnauzer from the characteristics of the puppies.

He is very cuddly and sweet and VERY, VERY NEEDY. He always wants attention from his humans. He does like playing with his foster fursiblings, but is definitely clingy and whiny when it comes to humans. With that being said, he will definitely need to go to a home that doesn’t have both parents that work 8 hours a day as he needs more.

He is an adorable little man that is working on potty training, but you will need to expect puppy antics currently.
