Meet Jack

Jack is a cute terrier mix puppy turned in directly to the Humane Society from his owner. They were unable to afford appropriate vet care for Jack and his sister Jill.
Jack is fairly quiet for a terrier. He and his sister Jill visited the Humane Society office and had no trouble with the office cats. They were interested in them, but not aggressive. They enjoyed the company of a small 9 month old Dachshund and have also been around a larger lab mix puppy. Jack and Jill are in a foster home with adults, children , and dogs. They are staying in an outdoor kennel but getting lots of indoor time with the family. He is working on leash and crate training. They are current on all of their first puppy shots and have been wormed. Jack's birth date is approximately Aug. 3rd, 2015. He weighed 3.14 lbs. at approx. 3 months old. He will remain a small dog when full grown. His adoption donation will be $175 with $75 returned to you upon proof of neuter at 6 months. It also includes a reduction in puppy obedience classes if you are so inclined . Please fill out an adoption application if Jack sounds right for you. Thank you for your interest in Jack!

Dog Adoption Guidelines:

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can fill out an application at www.forthepets.org/adoption.htm or email to humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application.
It is not a "first come" process; we try to "match" the dog with the family for a FOREVER home. We process all applications at once and take the dog off the site, place on adoption pending status until a decision is made. If a suitable home is not found, the dog returns to active status.
The dog adoption process can take about two weeks; we are a small group of volunteers who have full time jobs.
All of our dogs are indoor dogs with outdoor privileges, unless otherwise specified.
We do not fly or ship our dogs due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the dog back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.
If you apply to adopt a dog and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the dog and fill out the paperwork in person.
We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport.
We can't provide individual "meet and greet" sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have time to visit with the dog before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
