Meet Theo

We affectionately call Theo our village idiot. He just needs guidance. Theo is about 1.5 years old and only 36 pounds. Theo is overwhelming to other dogs and he just doesn't know how to control himself interacting with them for long periods. He would do well as an only dog as he would live to be the one to give you all the attention. He LOVES attention, in fact, his training is motivated by attention. He listens well with positive reinforcement of attention or high value food. He likes to play ball and play outside. He needs a family who is willing to work with him on the training he's already received. Theo got overstimulated staying at our shelter. We tried helping him but he needed more than we could give so he is currently staying at another location.
We recommend kids 12 and older. He has been in a foster home and he was so happy. He played with toys, slept in bed with the 14 year old child, is completely potty trained and loved sitting with his foster family.

We believe something horrible happened to him involving a tie out. We have worked with him to desensitize this so now he walks great on a no-pull harness but any loud booms, gunshots, thunder, etc freak him out so much that he freezes. We would love for him to have a fenced yard so he can be more comfortable and live the stress free life he deserves; however, he's been on a tie or at the trainers in the country and he does just fine.

Theo is currently staying at Professional Touch Training. He's doing amazing there and they adore him. This trainer will provide professional advice and assistance to anyone adopting Theodore. He is so happy and having so much fun out of the shelter environment. He LOVES his people! She is recommending he be an only dog and no very young kids since he just doesn't know how to act. He LOVES his 9 year old boy who plays with him and hangs out with him daily. He gets to greet him at the bus stop every day.

You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. Expect a 10+ year financial, physical and emotional commitment to this dog.
This dog is fixed, up to date on vaccines, rabies vaccinated, heartworm negative, flea treated, microchipped and is only $100.
