Meet Rio

Hi, my name is Rio, and I am almost seven years old. I am a healthy, neutered male pit bull mix. Let me tell you a little more about myself. I am a very happy and excited boy with lots of great years left. I like to do all sorts of activities; like play catch, play in the water, and go camping and hiking. Any outdoor activity is just fine by me! I am a little nervous around bicycles, but get used to them. I am also just as happy to snuggle up with you and watch a movie or read a book. Wherever you are is where I want to be.

My life story is a happy one. I was adopted via Craigslist by my mom and dad when I was about 3 months old. When I was 10 months old they let me adopt my brother! The four of us have lived happy together. My brother and I have had a few squabbles, as brothers sometimes do. I am pretty picky about other dogs though, I don’t really like them much. I do like kitties, sometimes I chase them but I have never hurt one.

My mom and dad decided to bring home a human brother about a year and a half ago. I was kind of ok with him at first but I have decided that kids are not my cup of tea. That is why I am here, in search of a new family that will spoil me with all the attention I want!

I have never bitten anyone (kids or adults). I did the right thing and gave warning with growls and body language around the little one. I am uneasy and uncomfortable with little kids. I may be ok with older kids, mom isn’t sure because we don’t have any in the family. My little human brother is my first experience with kids.

I am a good boy, my mom and dad love me very much. They know that I want a life without having to share my people and that I deserve that.

My adoption fee is $225. My adoption fee allows Valhalla Rescue to continue to provide care and medical treatment (including spay and neuter services) for dogs like me while we look for our forever homes. This fee also helps cover the ongoing costs of caring for less adoptable dogs that require longer stays in the rescue, or more advanced medical treatment before finding their forever homes.

If you think you might have the right home for me, please visit the Valhalla Canine Rescue website at www.valhallarescue.org and fill out an adoption application. One of our adoption coordinators will review your application, and then contact you. Our adoption process includes an in person home check which you will need to complete before we set up an appointment to meet this dog or any of the other dogs in our rescue.

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING A VALHALLA RESCUE DOG
