Jewels #6 Black Labrador Retriever Mix Killingworth, CT

Jewels is a small, 60 pound black Lab who was living with an elderly woman who kept her in the kitchen most of the time. Due to this lifestyle during her early years she deserves a forever home where she will know she is loved, accepted, and part of the family. It may take some time and focused attention to help her adjust to a new environment, and she will need an adopter who can give her that. She is definitely a people dog, so she will be best in a quiet home as an only pet. Since she has been living with a dog in her foster home, she might do okay with another dog, but she cannot live with a cat.

Jewels has been in a foster home for several months now, so we have really gotten to know her. She is a great watchdog, does well riding in a car, and does not need to be crated. While she prefers to sleep on a couch, she does enjoy a comfy dog bed as well. She may be the best dog we have ever walked on a leash and obeys our directions during the entire walk. She enjoys chewing sticks in the yard and loves laying in the sun on the deck for hours. She is still able to be trained, learning new commands and expectations since she has been with us. She just wants to please people and deserves to know that she has found a forever home where she can be calm and enjoy life.
