Meet Ash
Hi, my name is Ash! I'm a young boy, around 1 year old. I came to the shelter when my owners could no longer care for me.
I'm a friendly boy, and still really just a big puppy. I have had some basic training but could use a brush-up on my skills. Training time with you could be fun, I am smart and catch on quick! I like to be kept busy and active. I will need a fenced yard or to be walked on leash when I'm outside to keep me safely at home, especially since I have hunting instincts and will chase birds and bunnies.
Speaking of that, I'd do best in a home free of small animals and poultry/fowl. I have been around dogs and cats in my previous home, and was said to be okay with them. Based on how I am with the wild bunnies on my walks, though, staff says I may think it would be fun to chase cats. I would do best in a home with children ages 10 and up, mainly because I am high energy and need work on not jumping up.
If you're interested in adopting me, please email the shelter to ask for an adoption application. The staff takes applications for all the dogs in the shelter to try to find us the best possible homes to fit our individual needs. My adoption fee is $120 (+ $20 county dog license if residing in Jefferson County). I am up to date on all my vaccines until December, including the rabies vaccine. I have been micro-chipped.
