Zip Schipperke Auburn, NE

This great little fella was brought to the shelter by his owners who were unable to keep him. To our surprise, Zip arrived half naked. He had a good deal of hair loss and we immediately took him to the vet for testing. We discovered he has some minor food allergies and he is now on a inexpensive but exclusive diet. We also had him tested for Cushings disease and asked the vet do a skin scraping. Those tests came back negative so his hair loss is probably due to either alopecia or stress. Having a spotty coat doesn't bother this boy a bit. He is confident and funny and busy. He adores the company of the staff and volunteers and most of the other small dogs. He gets along with almost anyone, but we have noticed that he does gravitate toward the lady pups. He must know he is irrestibly handsome and turns on the charm. Zip will love an active family who will appreciate his differences and love him all the more for them. -
