My Story: Winnie was surrendered back to Pet Haven after being adopted out from us 9 years ago. A new situation in the family made it difficult to keep her so she is now back with us and looking for her new forever home!
Hobbies: Winnie is intelligent, loyal, and lovable and makes a great companion. She likes to be close to her owner. She would love to sleep with her new owner if you would allow it. She enjoys the outdoors- either taking a walk or just relaxing next to someone. She will always be excited to see you when you come home. She enjoys riding in cars.
Commands/Tricks: Winnie sits on command. She is able to catch treats in mid-air. She knows beg, sit pretty, and a new one she is learning: go long. This entails her running down a long hallway before a treat is thrown. She has learned to trust that her owner will throw the treat. She likes squeak toys or chew toys that look like a squirrel.
Crate/Potty Trained?: Winnie is completely potty trained. No use for the crate. She is well behaved and can roam free in the house. Winnie has had a lot of obedience training and often uses a gentle leader when on walks.
Activity Level (High/Medium/Low & Why): Medium - You would never guess this lady was a senior! Winnie has the energy level of a medium aged dog.
Fun Things I Do/Quirks: Winnie burrows deep into blankets at night or during naps.
Who I Currently Live With: Winnie currently lives with a single gal in an apartment. She does go to the complex's mini dog park daily and does fine with all the dogs there. Winnie does fine all day roaming free while her foster is at work.
My Ideal Family: Winnie says,'My ideal family is one that doesn't have another dog. I like to be pet and cared for. I will sit next to someone for hours.'
Winnie will be attending Pet Haven's adoption events. Her adoption fee is $220 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
