Meet Shelly

She's housebroken, sweet, playful and adorable. Please come meet Shelly!

Shelly was found as a stray in Boston and was not claimed by an owner. She passed her behavioral evaluation with flying colors so we brought her to the suburbs so she could enjoy nice walks with our volunteers. Her tail wags all the time and she is very sweet and outgoing. She knows commands such as Sit and Paw and is very gentle when you give her treats. She loves toys and looks so cute when she entertains herself with tennis balls or squeaky toys in our fenced area. She was very good for her bath and while she didn't enjoy the water all that much, she did like the scrubbing and toweling off afterwards. She greeted some nice kids that came to donate dog food as if they were long lost friends. She is approximately 1 - 2 years old, is housebroken, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on all other vet care.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Shelly's adoption fee is $150. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
