10/28/2015: These adorable pups are Ethan and Etta. They are 9 months old, and they are a mix of Dachshund/Chihuahua/American Staffordshire. Crazy huh? The pups only weigh about 25 lbs now, and won't get much bigger. They’ve got round bellies, short legs and long bodies! They would like a home together.

Ethan and Etta are both super friendly and affectionate, and pretty much the happiest pups you've ever meet. They love kids, love to give kisses, they are silly and playful and get along great with other dogs. We've taken them to many adoption events and they are tons of fun and incredibly cute together. They haven't been house trained yet, but when we take them to events they are great about doing their business in the grass and not indoors.

We would absolutely love to find a home for Ethan and Etta together. They don’t eat well if they’re separated and they are so happy together. They are quite bonded — and they’ve been thru a lot. KCK Animal Control picked them up this summer. They had demodex, with barely had any fur and a horrible skin condition. They also had parvo. We hospitalized them for the parvo and treated the demodex. They are healthy and ready for their new home!

Ethan & Etta have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. Our volunteers and staff are absolutely in love with them. They are going to make wonderful companions for some lucky person!

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
