Meet Harley/adoption pending

Harley was found as a stray on the north shore and not claimed by an owner. He is approximately 11 months old. Like most young Labs, he has lots of energy and will benefit from obedience training. He is willing to learn especially if you have a treat in your hand. He is working with our trainer and catches on quickly. He walks well on a leash, loves to fetch, loves to play with toys and gets along well with other dogs. He is a sweet boy with a constantly wagging tail. He loves toys and balls and can entertain himself leaping around with them and throwing them in the air. He is neutered and up-to-date on all care and just needs an active home that has trained a dog before. He came to us as a very thin 44 lbs.but has started to gain weight and looks better every day.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
