Meet Bruce

Third time’s a charm. They say that one is sure to succeed at a goal on the third try. Bruce’s goal is to finally find a forever home that doesn’t give up on him and that will love him through thick and thin, good times and bad. We at STAF don’t think Bruce is asking for too much.

Bruce’s first home had had him since he was a little pup. This home brought Bruce to STAF when he felt that he no longer had time for Bruce due to job demands. But you know what Bruce really doesn’t demand a lot of time…just a little love, a nice daily walk and Bruce is one happy boy.

Bruce’s first home told us that Bruce loves to play, is housebroken (will even ring a bell to let you know he has to go!) and crate-trained. He said Bruce does well with other dogs and had previously lived with an elderly chihuahua. He said Bruce likes to steal toilet paper :O) Loves ropes, tennis balls, frisbees and rubber squeaky things. Other loves include people, car rides, and having his front armpits (leg pits?) scratched. :o).

Bruce did well at STAF his first time around and eventually found what he believed to be his forever home. Bruce was adopted and lived very happily in his home for almost four years. Bruce adored his family, especially the young girl in the home. Unfortunately circumstances changed, Bruce was no longer part of the plan and once again Bruce was brought to STAF. We just don’t get it? We have to believe that there must be something in the stars, and Bruce’s home of a lifetime is just around the corner.

Bruce’s second home reiterated everything his first home said, along with a litany of additional praises. They said that Bruce loves children, does very well with most dogs…loves to play in the yard with his canine friends. He knows his manners but will try to climb in your lap for some up close loving and he loves to give kisses. :o)

They said that Bruce never chewed up anything or damaged anything that was not his toy. Good boy Bruce.

Bruce is full of energy and can become overwhelmed if he does not get to run it off, but Bruce will let you know when he would like a walk or some play time. Bruce loves to run and is in his glory when running around his fenced yard.

Bruce is smart too! He knows sit down, stay, paw, come and he will ring the bells on the door to go potty (just like in his first home!). He is so smart, he figured out how to open lever door handles.

Bruce will sneeze on command. You heard us right. Bruce’s sneezing is about the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Bruce was used to sleeping in the bed with the daughter in the family.

Bruce’s only issue is that he needs a refresher in positive-leash training, since he has really not had anyone work with him in almost four years;(. While at STAF the first time, Bruce passed his Canine Good Citizen Test on his first attempt, so a refresher course may be a exactly what he needs:). Bruce will thrive with a patient leader who is active, loving and dedicated to giving Bruce the forever home that he so deserves.

Third time’s a charm.

Bruce's estimated date of birth is October, 28, 2008
