Harlee Labrador Retriever Mix Redondo Beach, CA

***BEAUTIFUL YELLOW LAB MIX HARLEE****

Harlee is a sweet girl who had a very rough doggie infancy. She was rescued with her sister and brother from a terrible hoarding and neglectful situation in Anaheim, CA. It seems Harlee and her siblings were cast aside, kept in a dirt and plywood "enclosure" with minimal human love, kindness, or even interaction. As a result, Harlee became fearful of humans. She has been with our certified dog trainer foster for 2.5 months and has come so far and benefitted so much under her care! It's time now for Harlee to venture out of her comfort zone, with a newer confidence, and explore the world with new people and activities. This will also allow foster mom to foster another shelter pet and save another life!

Harlee is about 10mos old and a mix of lab and possibly shepard or chow? She is petite, about 35lbs, and beautiful yellow golden color coat. Harlee loves other dogs and is more comfortable with another dog in the home. She remains fearful when meeting new people but does warm up over time. She does not ever show aggression, and requires her own time to come to you. I estimate she will bond to her new person within a 2 week period with structure, patience, experienced dog owner, kindness, positive reinforcement, routine and activity! I've included no small kids in description only because the transition will be new for her and it's best to keep it easier. Although right now Harlee is fostered with kids, other dogs, men, and kids/toddlers. We will also accept a foster-to-adopt situation, where if you'd like to foster Harlee, locally for our rescue group and help us work with her for 2-3 months to ensure she bonds and adjusts with a tender hand. During that time we will cover all veterinary expenses, food, and supplies.

I take her running on the Hermosa Strand, and taking her hiking this weekend. She will reward your dedication and commitment by being a loyal companion who she can feel safe with you and know she will be safe for the rest of her life. Harlee is the true epitome of the heartbreaking work we do in rescue, she was an emotionally broken dog who has learned a bit of confidence and that all humans aren't bad, won't you help her on the leg of her next journey?
