Yoda was dropped off as a stray at the Shelter this morning. He is a red australian shepherd and from previous reports from the lady who called him in as a stray he is very wary of strangers and was growling. We will be evaluating him and will keep everyone posted as to his progress. He is on owner stray hold until his adoption date.

ID No 119 Adoption date is 5/19/15. Available to rescue 5/20/15. Possible Euthanize date 6/3/15

By TN state law stray dogs are held for 3 days so they can be found by their owners before being put up for adoption. Rescues are allowed to pull dogs on the day after they are put up for adoption. A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption, and on the 6th day is available to rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility.  There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue. They are available at 7am on the day they are available.
The current adoption fee is $71 which includes the dogs spay or neuter, Rabies vaccination, and Distemper/Parvo vaccination at a local vet. .  Dogs are given 2 weeks to find a new home and due to limited space and resources are given a two week euthanasia date on intake.
