Meet Winnie

Winnie is a purebred dapple (piebald) dachshund recently found as a stray in rural WV. She is believed to be about three years old and in good health, though a bit overweight. Other than a small hernia near her spay scar (and probably caused by the spay), our vet believes she is in great health. Winnie is microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She gets along well with other dogs and likes to ride in the car!

CARE requires that all interested parties visit our adoption stands to meet our dogs before they may apply to adopt them. A schedule of our adoption stands can be found on our website at carerva.com, along with our adoption policies and procedure. We encourage you to visit our site before you do anything else. CARE does not place its dogs in homes with preschool aged children who may accidentally hurt or be hurt by the dog. Adopters are required to have an established veterinarian who can speak to their responsibility as pet owners and a home visit will help us to determine that the home is safe for the animal. A fenced yard is recommended and may be required.
