6/11/2015: Sasha is a pretty Black Lab mix. She’s about 2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. Sasha is very friendly and affectionate. She rolls right over for a belly rub! She’s an active girl and she loves to go on long walks. She’s a bit choosy about her doggie friends, so she may do best as an only dog. If you have a dog we’d ask you to make an appointment to bring your dog in so the two can meet. We’ll be testing her with more dogs in the near future so that we have a better idea of how she does. She does need a home without cats.

Sasha was sick when she was brought to our shelter. She had parvo virus and had to be hospitalized. She’s completely recovered now. She’d also had puppies recently, and our vets said that she’s probably had many, many pups. She’s now been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Unfortunately she tested positive for heartworms. But she has finished her treatments and by the end of June she will be able to be off leash without restrictions.

Sasha is a sweetie who sadly did not receive the veterinary care she needed in the past, but she's just about done with all her health issues now and ready to be an awesome companion!

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
