Meet Sebastian
If you think it is hard to tell black cats from each other, come meet this terrific guy and you will see how unique they all are. This tall, gracious guy is one of a kind. He is only about 1-year-old. Sebastian came from a home that felt cats should be outside more than in and that cats needed to earn their keep to receive attention. His job was to catch mice around the foundation of his home in Dorchester and sit on the stoop to catch warmth from the sun waiting to be let in at night. Sebastian did such a good job managing the mouse population that his owners decided he wasn't needed anymore and mentioned to the neighborhood social worker, and Shelter friend they were not going to care for him any more.
He is a friendly and playful cat and gets along very well with other kitties. He spent some time in a foster home where he and the other cat played with the laser toy and he had a blast.

If a cat is listed on our website, that means that cat is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our adoption fee for adult cats is $125. Our kitten adoption fee (cats up to 6 months old) is $160 for a single kitten or $260 for a pair. The adoption fee includes the first set of vaccines, dewormer, combo testing (for FeLV and FIV) and spaying/neutering when old enough.
