Darla Shih Tzu Springfield, VA

Meet three-year-old Darla, a black and white Shih Tzu. She came into our rescue when her guardian, a fellow dog rescuer, died suddenly. This wonderful rescuer fostered some of our special needs dogs, including Darla, and now several of them are once again without a home.

Darla is very sweet and affectionate--a total love bug! She LOVES to sit in your lap and be cuddled, to be held like a baby, and to have her tummy scratched. She is very easygoing quiet and gets along with other dogs and cats.

Darla has very limited sight due to a former medical condition but gets around fine in a home once she learns the layout of the furniture. She also does fine outside once she is familiar with the area.

To look at Darla, you'd never know that she has limited sight. It certainly doesn't slow her down!

This sweetie is still so young--she deserves to have a full life and to enjoy all the things that other dogs who are not sight-impaired enjoy.

Darla still needs some help with her house training so would do best in a setting where someone is home during the day to let her out regularly for potty breaks.
