Alexander Hound & Labrador Retriever Mix Dedham, MA

Alexander is a 1 1/2 year old approximately 50 pound lab/hound mix. This poor fellow was adopted and returned to the Guest House 3 times. Every time he was returned he would cry and howl in his kennel. It became too much and he was a broken dog the last time he was returned....which was really hard to see. I vowed that I would never allow that to happen to him again.....so we gave him a rest from the rescue and just let him ease into a life with people completely committed to him. He has been relaxing at one of our dear friends house and we are, once again, thrilled to help him find his forever family. I promised him I will make sure his next family is committed to him, that is all he wants...can't you see it in his eyes!

If you would like to meet one of the dogs in our care, the first step of our process is to fill out an application. Please find the application on our website at www.sghrescue.org (Under the how to adopt tab) and we will be glad to set up a visit for you! Our meet and greets are generally on the weekends (10-2), by appointment but we are happy to set up a an appointment another time during the week, should that work better for you as well!

Our adoption fees vary. For senior dogs over 7 years old, the adoption donation is $250. For local adult dogs, it is $350. Dogs transported from out of state cost us additional fees for transportation and health certificates, therefore the costs are $400 for adult dogs and $450 for puppies ($50 is rebated after you send us the spay/neuter certificate) or $400.00 if the puppy is already spayed/neutered.
