Diesel Rottweiler Mix Cincinnati, OH

Diesel is a very handsome Rottie with a very infectious smile. Diesel comes to STAF from one of our county shelter partners where he was a favorite of the deputies and volunteers. Diesel has quickly worked his magic on the STAF volunteers as well. On his way to STAF Diesel stopped by a STAF volunteer’s house where he made himself at home and was comfortable with everyone he met, including the family dogs. Diesel is not a big fan of the felines he has met, so he will do best in a home without cats. Diesel has done well with other dogs at STAF.

Diesel LOVES his people-time. He adores being pet and just when you think you are done petting him, he will softly nudge your hand so he can bury his head under your arm to let you know that he is ready for more.

“A little summary on Diesel,

Diesel is such a diamond in the rough, he is not one to rush up to people and bestow them with a face full of kisses but he is the one always waiting for you to come to him with a good ear scratch or belly rub. He loves walks in the park with lots of smells to smell and maybe a little dip in the little Miami if you have time, He is never too demanding and is always a patient co pilot, he loves to just lie down in the back seat for the whole trip, he will probably drool all over your backseat but his geeky smile will always make up for it.

He is such a little gold-star student at training. Was advanced to the next level quicker than anyone else in class! He already knows sit, down, stand, watch me, wait, touch, leave it, stay, with me, and he is 50/50 with "kisses". He is still getting used to the high energy of the puppies, he does not care for them when they run at his face, but he definitely is more patient.

He has appeared at STAF-Dog events and has been awesome. While at the events he is so patient with the other dogs, only got peeved at one who snuck up on him while he was lying down. But who wouldn’t? He is also great at receiving good ear scratches and pets from children and adults alike. Ever the patient pal he seemed unperturbed by all the sights and sounds at the events.

I would describe him as the perfect ca-brewing and netflix binge watching dog, always up for an adventure but loves to just sit and hang out with you all day. Really just the chill-est dog ever.” :o)

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 13.
We do request vet and personal references.
At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
