Meet Raider

RAIDER was rescued by AGES from the Camelot Horse Auction in PA from the #10 kill pen in November of 2014. Raider has a simply joyful personality and will always put a smile on your face; he enjoys grooming and stands quietly for tacking and mounting. He's had time to relax and get used to his paddock mates and our volunteers. He is friendly and easygoing. We think possibly he was a driving horse before... but not certain. He is currently under saddle but prefers to just play games at this point!

Raider initially seemed quite green under saddle and in training but has made some nice progress through groundwork and light riding. Raider’s primary focus in training has been relaxation in work and gaining forward. A previous injury (best guess) gives Raider some occasional lower back pain. To help comfort and correct this, AGES continues to provide chiropractic care. Rehabilitative training and chiropractic care have been greatly helpful and our vet says Raider is ready for more work under saddle!

Raider needs an experienced rider that knows how to correct him/his evasions both under saddle and on the ground without getting hotheaded or impatient; I have the feeling he’s had enough of that in his past! Raider would always rather be playing that working and is a joy to spend time with! We are focused on getting Raider trail-ready and smooth w/t/c this spring! He's UTD and a great gelding to mold into your dream horse; he would love to have a home with friends! Raider is our resident comedian and loves to play with rubber balls and feed bins! He could really use a playmate and is very ready for his special someone to come meet him!
