6/19/2015: Hazel and Holly are two adorable Shepherd/Hound sisters who are looking for a home together. They’re both very sweet natured girls and they are truly bonded. They are a year old. The pups grew up together in a backyard where they weren’t getting the care they needed. A kind neighbor watched out for them and gave them shelter and extra food until she was able to get permission to take them.

Both Hazel and Holly are just a tad bit timid, but they warm up very quickly to new people and new situations. They’re both affectionate with people and they love to play together. They’re much braver when they are together, and look for each other when separated. We’ve taken them on pack walks and they enjoy being walked. We recently took them to a satellite adoption event and they did really well and met many people. They’d be more comfortable in a home without small kids.

Hazel is the bigger one, and she weighs about 50 lbs now. Smaller sister Holly is actually a bit more confident than her big sister. She weighs about 40 lbs now. They have been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. They make a great pair and are happy pups in spite of their upbringing.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
