Meet Gabriel - Katey

Gabriel is an adorable hound mix. He is 10 months old and full of energy. He has a lovely white and tan coat and tan spots on his legs. He has cute perky ears and big brown eyes.

Gabriel is currently living in a foster home where he is socializing with people and other animals. He gets along great with the resident female Great Dane/Lab mix. They love to run around, chase each other, and wrestle. He is also good with the resident cat. Gabe sniffs the cat and tries to play with him. Gabe is house-trained and crate-trained. He hangs out in his crate when his foster parents are gone and sleeps in his crate at night. He loves his crate and goes right to sleep. Gabe can be shy and timid with new people. He knows sit, lay-down, shake, come. He is working on other basic commands such as off/down, stay, and leave it. His Dane-mix foster sister is helping him learn good doggy behaviors and helping him become a confident young pup. He enjoys playing with squeaky tennis balls and loves chewing on nylabones. He loves being with his people and cuddling when he gets tired out.

Gabe is full of energy and will need regular exercise/playtime. He loves playing outside and would prefer a home with a good-sized, fenced yard to keep him safe. Gabe is sure to bring fun, excitement, lots of cuddles, and love to your life! If he sounds like a good match, please ask about him today!

****His adoption fee is $295.****

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
