Meet Josh
Josh is a very sweet and smart dog, who needs a strong leader that can provide him with consistency and discipline. Josh's cute looks and amazing charm give him the appearance of any easy happy-go-lucky dog. However, without strong pack leadership from his adopters, he will become protective feeling that he needs to step into the role of pack leader. And once this position is established in his new home, it becomes more difficult to change. Because he’s so adorable, people tend to not believe us and spoil him right off the bat, which sets up the wrong structure for him. Josh has the ability to sense when his pack leader is weak and will immediately step into that role. So, it is extremely important that we start off the relationship where he clearly understands who is in charge.
He listens to his foster parents well, but he tries to outsmart people, so it requires the adopter to be extremely aware of any signs that indicate he is challenging your position as a leader of the pack. We will provide a trainer to help with the transition into your home, so that you clearly understand how to create a healthy and balanced relationship where Josh views you as his pack leader. We understand that not everybody is interested in a dog that requires more work, but if you are capable of it, the reward is priceless. He really needs a true leader who will guide him with confidence and conviction. If this is you, please let us know.
[Josh was born in Dec. 2012 and weighs 29 lbs.]
