Meet Peanut Butter - NEW UPDATE 9/7
Peanut Butter is an affectionate girl and loves giving kisses. She is so willing and eager to please. She is good with other medium to large dogs, walks well on a leash, and is a member of the shelter dog playgroup. A cat-free home is recommended.
Peanut Butter recently spent some time in a home as part of our R&R Program and her R&R companion says these are the top 10 reasons why you should adopt her:
1. She loves watching football! She couldn't take her eyes off the screen. She also likes watching funny dog videos on YouTube.
2. Fish in an aquarium were a source of entertainment for Peanut Butter. She was hypnotized by their movements, but didn't try to get them.
3. Peanut Butter likes to lie upside down and play dead.
4. Peanut Butter was happy to sleep on the end of the bed with my daughter, and would be most happy with a child to play with.
5. While riding in the car, Peanut Butter loves to stick her nose out the window the whole time. But just her nose!
6. When we ate dinner, PB did not beg. She decided that was a good time to take a nap.
7. She is house trained!
8. She knows 'sit' and takes treats gently.
9. Although Peanut Butter is a young dog and will need basic training, she responds very quickly to commands. We only had to tell her twice not to jump on the couch, and the next morning, she didn't even try.
10. Crate training doesn't seem to be a problem. She got in an empty crate at home and made herself comfortable, so training should be easy!
BONUS: The way she looks at you feels like she is looking into your soul. She even bats her eyes slowly while she does it. It will melt your heart.
Her R&R Companion said, "Her personality really comes out when she's away from the shelter. She was very curious about everything. She would follow us around but when we settled, she would relax too. We loved having Peanut Butter spend the night with us."
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. Fee includes at least one round of vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter surgery, heartworm test, and microchip.
