Bella/adoption pending Dachshund & Pug Mix Medfield, MA

We are guessing at Bella's mix as having Dachshund, Pug and maybe Chihuahua, but that is simply a guess. She looks a lot like a tiny yellow Lab and has a coat just like a Lab. She is 4 years old and her owner gave gave her to a coworker 4 months ago when she moved to Florida and no longer wanted to be tied down. The coworker had her for 4 months during end of her pregnancy, but now that she has a baby she has no time for a dog. She was chased by a 2-year-old in the house and therefore we will only place her with kids ages 12 or older. She has just arrived and wants to be close to people and will climb into your lap if you sit in her kennel with her, but is also a little worried when people try to put her leash on. She does not like to be picked up, but does love attention and has gotten attached to our volunteers and wags her tail like crazy when she sees one of her favorites. She is a sweet little dog who will blossom in a home willing to give her a chance to settle in.

Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
