Sox Labrador Retriever Mix Temple, TX

This is Sox. He has been with APAC for six months now and he is so ready for his forever home. He is a big strong healthy boy, and very gentle, loving and playful. He is a Labrador retriever mix and between 4 to 5 years old. He is up to date on shots, neutered and heart worm positive. Our vet suggested the slow kill method and we expect Sox to be heart worm negative within one year. He needs a home with someone who is comfortable with large dogs.Sox is not an alpha male, however, if he gets picked on, he will defend himself. A home with a submissive male dog or female dogs of any character and size are fine. Sox is currently being fostered by someone that has horses, and he is doing fine being around them.Sox is nervous around small children and should not be adopted by someone that has small children. Teenage children would be fine. He knows basic commands and he is getting better walking nicely on a leash. He rides very well in a car, and he can be crated as well. The ideal home would allow him to be inside, but Sox would do well as a backyard protector too. All he wants is someone that will love him and gives him the attention that he deserves.
