Brandi Black Labrador Retriever & Chow Chow Mix Scranton, PA

Brandi is a female, mini Shepherd/Lab/Chow? mix, who was recently rescued from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter. She is about 2-3 years old. Brandi came into the shelter with four very large puppies in tow, surrendered by her person who could not afford to take care of so many dogs. She is still looking a little thin and depleted from giving so much of herself to raise her pups, but Brandi is a very lovely mid-sized girl at just 35 pounds. She is very good with people but she can be unpredictable with other dogs. For that reason, we think that Brandy would do best as an only dog. Brandi is friendly but not in a pushy or demanding way. She is more of the independent type, coming over to say hello but then content to just hang nearby rather than trying to climb all over your lap or slather you with kisses.The jury is still out on how she would do with cats. Mama Brandi has already been spayed and she is up-to-date with vaccinations. This sweet girl has recently been treated for heart-worm disease but she is well on the road to recovery now. She is NOT contagious to other dogs and only needs a repeat on her heart-worm testing in a few more months. Otherwise, she is a perfectly normal, healthy dog. She has been micro-chipped. Brandi will be available for adoption on Nov. 2nd and we are taking applications for her now. Her adoption fee is $275.
