Tork/adoption pending Cattle Dog Mix Medfield, MA

Tork and Bella were recently surrendered to another larger shelter due to a move. These puppies are litter mates and had been bought on the side of the road in Texas when they were 8 weeks old. We can imagine they would have been hard to resist at any age. They traveled to MA with their owners, but when they were unable to find housing with the dogs they sadly gave them up. The dogs are now approximately 10 months old and at 21 lbs. are likely full grown. Both dogs are now vetted and ready for adoption. We are looking to place them separately. We are guessing at their mix, but do think they have some herding breed in the mix.

Tork seems to be very outgoing, happy, energetic and nothing bothers him. He loves his sister and other dogs and all people the owners reported. He did not live with children but is always happy to be with them. His previous family did not do any organized dog obedience work with him so he does need work on his jumping and to finish his housebreaking with a crate instead of puppy pads.

Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
