Meet Sheba

11.2015 Sheba is listed as Special Needs only because of her age. Sheba was adopted at the beginning of 2015. The match ended up not being the right fit and Sheba is again in our care. Sheba is doing very well in her foster home. She is loving and attention seeking. She is older, so she spends most of her time relaxing, but she is also very curious and will follow her foster parents all around the house to see what they're up to. Sheba is seeking a home that is accustomed to the needs of a senior cat, that has people that will love and cherish her for the rest of her years.

11.2014 We rescued Sheba from Chicago animal control about two months ago. Sheba’s owner had taken her to the vet to board for two days. Two months later, he still hadn’t returned for her. At that point, the vet had no choice but to turn her in to animal control. Sheba’s sad story, and her sweet face, pulled at our heartstrings and we felt compelled to pull Sheba from certain euthanasia at animal control. Luckily, we acted in time and were able to make Sheba one of the dozens of cats that we pull from local animal control facilities every year.

Sheba is a 13-16-year-old chocolate point Siamese. She loves company and lounging on the couch. She’s quite talkative. Although she is older, her health is good. We just did a senior blood panel with urinalysis and all of her levels are normal. She may have some arthritis issues but we have begun giving her joint supplements and hope that will help her move around like a young cat. Sheba seems to be fine with other cats, but has not been dog tested. She would probably be fine with an older, very low-key dog. We don’t know why Sheba has those cute little curled up ears. Based on experience, she likely suffered chronic ear infections over the course of her life. Thankfully, now she is completely vetted and in no pain or discomfort.

If you get our paper newsletter, you might have heard that Sheba was about ready to head off to her forever home before Christmas. Unfortunately for Sheba, that adoption fell through do to a job offer in another state that the applicant could not pass up. So, Sheba is still in the market for a forever home. Please help us give Sheba a

We've listed Sheba as special needs because she is a senior.
