BUSTER Pit Bull Terrier Merriam, KS

Hi there, my name is Buster and I am one of the most lovable pitties you are ever going to meet! I am a little over 2 years old and weigh in at about 55 pounds, but I am just a puppy at heart. I think that is a nice way for my friends to say that I am rambunctious and full of energy! I am just a happy-go-lucky guy, and just want to spread love and joy where ever I go!

I have been at the shelter for a few months now, not because I am not a good boy, but because dogs like me are a lot harder to place than other dogs at the shelter. Since I am a pit bull mix, I can't go to just any city, I have to go to a BSL free city. Although, many cities are dropping their breed bans, there are still many that haven't yet, so my friends here at the shelter, have to make sure that I go to a home in a city that will allow me, so nothing bad happens to me. And, another thing I have going against me, or at least, this is what the statistics say, is because I am a black dog and they take longer to adopt out too. I say what??? Black is beautiful!!! After I get a bath, my coat is so nice and shiny, so I just don't get that at all. Enough with those restrictions and statistics, now on to the good stuff!

Because I am such a good boy and have been at the shelter for an extended period of time, some very nice people decided that I needed a break from the shelter, so now I have Foster Parents!!! They Rock! They help dogs like me who start getting sad and depressed at the shelter and bring us into their home and see how we do in a home environment and then they tell you guys, so you can adopt us. Then after I get adopted, they get to foster another dog that is sad in the shelter, isn't that wonderful?

My Foster Parents are the best! They have a big backyard, so I get to run and run to my hearts content. I would love to have a backyard at my new home too as I love to play and run, and it helps me release a lot of my energy. I also love when they take me on long walks and I like to keep up a good pace, so if you put an easy walk harness on me, I know I could help keep you in shape as well. And, if you are a runner, we would be perfect companions!!! And toys, oh boy, don't even get me started on the toys....I just love them all! I love stuffed bones, kongs, tennis balls, treat balls, chew toys, you name it, I will play with it. Foster Mom also said I am a very good listener and that I mind very well. I am smart as a whip too....I already know sit, down, shake and now I am learning stay. I love my treats, so that makes it very easy to train me! And, I love car rides, so if you are looking for a road buddy, I am your guy!

I am also housebroken and crate trained, so that is always a plus. And, last, but not least when my foster parents had their Grandchildren over to visit, they sat so nicely and played with their trains and cars on the floors and guess who sat very nicely right next to them and watched? You got it, this guy!!! I was so good with the kids, didn't try to eat the toys, didn't mess with them, just stood by and watched the boys play.
