Meet Carrington
Breed: Collie
Age: Approx 3 years
Weight: 45 lbs
Good with dogs: No
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Older (she might knock them over)
Energy Level: Medium
Carrington is as close as you can get to a purebred collie. We don't know for sure, but she sure does look like it. Carrington has only three legs. We are not sure how she lost it. We have absolutely no background information on her which is common for most of our dogs. She is an absolute sweetheart with people and loves to be fawned all over. Her coat is soft and fluffy. Carrington will need to be in a home without other dogs. She gets tipped over easily and it makes her grouchy. We think she has either been picked on by other dogs or is just not trusting of them. She only wants the attention of her human. She is loyal and loving. She loves to go for walks and curl up beside you.
If you would like to adopt Carrington, please contact Jillian at jilliancarlson84@gmail.com
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
