Meet Jack: Adopted!
Date of birth: 1/2014
10/1/2014: Jack is a handsome American Bulldog/Boxer mix. He’s just 8 months old, and a big pup! He’s very friendly and he’s an active and playful guy. He currently weighs about 45 lbs, but he’s underweight and still has some growing to do, so he’ll be a big dog.
Jack was sick with parvo virus when he was brought to us. We hospitalized him and then brought him back to our shelter to recover. He was extremely skinny, but he’s gaining weight, and he’s now healthy and ready for his new home!
Jack seems to like some but not all dogs, so if you have a dog we’d ask you to make an appointment with us to bring your dog to our shelter so that we can determine if they’re a good match. Jack plays pretty rough and needs some manners, so he probably would not be a good match for very young children who he will easily knock over. He’s very food motivated and already knows sit, so should be a fun dog to train and teach him his manners.
Jack has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms.
MORE ON ADOPTING OUR DOGS...
Please visit our web site at HSGKC.ORG for more information about our adoption process, our adoption fees and all that's included, and for a pet adoption application.
> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!
> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.
> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
Thank you for searching for a shelter pet!
