Tonya (now Roxie) Poodle & Shih Tzu Mix White Lake, MI

We rescued sisters Tonya (now Roxie) and Tasha a few months ago. It was obvious they'd come from a rough environment before and were super shy. In the end, both first found great homes and it looks like this girl, Tonya (now Roxie), is doing wonderful! Her family tells us : "This is our Roxie, formally known as Tonya. She has become much more outgoing since adopting her in July. She is such a happy dog and we love her so much!"

These two sisters are very sweet and gentle, but if your looking for a pet that runs up to you wagging their tail and wanting to be with you these are not the girls for you. They are shy and nervous at first, but once they warm up to you they will be great. It it will require someone with patience and understanding to give them the home they deserve.

Personality: These two are very nice dogs. They can be a bit shy at first but will make great new friends for someone!
History: These sisters were found wandering stray in rural Kentucky. They weren’t in very good shape and had awful fur. Now, they look wonderful! They have come to Michigan and are ready to find families!
Ideal Home: Tonya needs a home that understands what it takes to be a dog owner. She is still young, and needs a family willing to work with her on whatever it is she may need. You need to be a family willing to commit for all of this dog's lifetime, which may be another 14 years. So if you won't be able to have a dog in fourteen years, please rethink adopting. However if these don't bother you and you are truly ready for a dog please don't hesitate to let us know!

Health: Current vaccines have been done, but the family will need to follow up. She is spayed.
