Hi everybody! My name is Chick Pea and I am a pretty pit bull mix, with the sweetest temperament that you will ever find! I was found as a pregnant stray girl, wandering the mean streets back in the Spring of 2014. Luckily, I was taken into a rescue and foster home within three days of giving birth to my five babies. I loved my puppies so and took the best care of them in the six weeks they were weaning. Even after I was finished nursing them, I enjoyed hanging out, cleaning, loving and playing with them. They have all long gone left and found their forever homes, while I still patiently wait in limbo.

My foster home is great, though, don't get me wrong...I hang out with the other dogs and get along well with everybody, especially smaller doggies! I like to go on walks, greeting everyone I see with a smile and a wiggly tail. I know basic commands, like sit, stay, kennel up and I am leash trained and walk well on one. I just want my own forever home though after waiting for almost 18 months.

I am an all around great girl. I have to be honest in that I am a little unsure of cats, not knowing what quite to make of them. I believe I could learn to live peacefully and get along with them, if someone had the time to slowly introduce and always supervise in the initial few months of adopting me.

I just really want a home now to call my very own, since it seems like all anyone wanted from me in my first two years is for me to have babies that were just given away and sold. I want somebody to love me just for me, because I AM WORTH IT and will be forever grateful :)

Adoption Fee: $150.00

TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a two week trial .

Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.
