Arrival story: Sergei was a stray and taken in by a rural shelter. He was so scared and stressed that it took a couple weeks of working with him before he interacted with shelter staff. His time was up so Waggin Tails took him in to continue his rehabilitation and find him a forever home.

Personality: Check out his pic montage video on this link to see how handsome he is then read his bio to see how awesome he is! https://flipagram.com/f/j1qZrhGyjU.

Our shy guy Sergei is still looking for his forever. Sergei is a mellow, calm boy most of the time but he lights up when it's time to play. If you like a dog who loves to play ball, play in the hose and pool and chase a laser light , then Sergei could be the boy for you! Sergei is a proper gentleman and will put the ball down gently at your feet and wait patiently for the next toss.He really loves to leap for those fly balls! Sergei was so afraid of everything when he first came to his foster home, but with patience, kindness and play time Sergei really relaxed and settled in nicely. He's a very nice boy who just needed the time to adjust to his new surroundings. He's still a little shy when he meets new people but if he's allowed to interact with people at his own pace and if that person just HAPPENS to toss him a ball, he forgets all about his initial wariness. He gets along fine with other dogs but he's very people and play focused so he'd make a great one on one companion too. Sergei looks and acts like a lab with his play behavior and his big clunky feet but he has a unique brindle coat. He could have a dose of hound in there as every once in a while he emits this cute little howly bay. Sergei is a very smart and attentive boy and he is eager to please. Even though he loves to play he settles down nicely in the house and is happy to hang out with you while you do people stuff or will relax with a good chew bone. He's come a long way in a short amount of time so this boy has a lot of potential and is deserving of his second chance.

Forever home: Sergei would do best with experienced dog owners who will be kind, gentle and patient while he adjusts to his new home. If you have a soft spot for the shy, scaredy type who blossoms as he learns to trust and love, you'll have a loyal and bonded companion as the outcome. He would enjoy an active person or couple who would like to play ball, take him swimming or just play with the hose. Sergei seems to be up for any kind of play and enjoys the interaction. He has not been around children but due to his size, strength and shyness, he would do best in an adult household. His play style is not suited for the tiny dogs so he'd do best with dog pals who are 30 lbs and up. We don't know how he is with cats. A fenced yard would be best so he has a safe place to chase that ball that he so dearly loves!
