Vinny: Adopted! Corgi Mix Kansas City, KS

10/2/2014: Vinny is a super cute Corgi mix with an expressive face, and a head that’s out of proportion with those short little legs! He is adorable, and he’s a very sweet and happy guy. He bonds very quickly with people. He gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having another dog in his new home. Vinny would do best in a home with someone who is home a lot or has another dog in the home to keep him company. If you have a dog, we’d ask you to make an appointment to bring your dog in so the dogs can meet. Vinny barks when he's left alone, so he would not be a good match for someone in an apartment or who needs a quiet dog.

We've recently had Vinny out on our agility equipment, and he really enjoys it! He's doing the jump, the A frame, teeter-totter and dog walk. It's pretty darn cute to see him doing all the activities with those short little legs!

Vinny is about 2 years old and he weighs 38 lbs. He has never had an accident in his kennel, and if he’s not house trained already we’d expect that he should house train quickly. He is a highly talented fence climber. He only does it on occasionally, but he would need to be very closely supervised in a fenced yard, and will need a home with someone who will take him for walks to keep him exercised.

Vinny tested positive for heartworms, but has finished treatments and is now back to normal activity and running and playing. He’s been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He's a real sweetheart!

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
