FOSTER MOM UPDATE August 9

Fonzie is the happiest little guy. He has made phenomenal progress at every level since he has come into Foster care. He loves to play ball and tug, and playing with my JRT is the bees knees for him.

Fonzie has a lot of energy and as such needs a good long walk in the morning to get his ya ya's out. A fenced yard would be great for him to go out with you to play ball, or I'm guessing he'd be an awesome jogging companion, he'd love it.

He LOVES going for walks and has learned to be patient at the door, he likes to pick things up along the way on his walks, stick, rocks etc (we discourage rocks), sometimes we bring along a wee kong or toy for him to carry, just remember to pick it up when he gets distracted :)

Fonzie likes to meet new people on his own terms I find that if you introduce him and ask people not to talk, touch or look at him for a minute, that way he can give you a good checking out and within literally minutes be comfortable with you.

He would thrive in a home with patient, calm people, but who also like to have lots of fun.

He would do best in a less urban environment. A home where someone is home most of the time, and where he would get lots of exercise. He's still young and has lots of energy. He's very food motivated and learns quickly with the incentive of food. He has learned to sit on command with a hand signal and is learning down, wait and off. He's very good with leave it.

He adores attention and will sit on your lap and go into a trance as you stroke his neck and head, he'd go to sleep if it didn't mean he'd fall off!

He does exceptionally well with my JRT, he seems to look to him for what to do and how to react to a situation as well, so a confident and calm older dog would be a great house mate. With a thoughtful introduction, he seems to match the energy of the dog he is with.

I adore him. If I could keep him, I would in a minute. Everyone who has met him (and he's met a lot of people and been to several dinners out) adores him. Forgot to mention that he is a MASSIVE cuddler in bed too :)

Heeeeeeeeyyy!
They call me The Fonz. The canine version of Arthur Fonzarelli. I am smoooooth with the ladies and all the guys wanna hang around with me. I'm 2-years-old and about 11 lbs of cool.

I gotta say, besides the ladies, I really dig going out in the car for rides (I check out the chicks) and going for walks (where I have also been known to check out the chicks). Well, actually, they all check me out. I have a rich, soft fur coat that they love to stroke. I have amazing tall ears and long long legs, I've got a real svelte bod too.

So you are probably thinking to yourself, this dog is sooooo cool... I bet he even likes chasing the ball and to that I say, exactamundo! I love to run around! So far, since I've been at my foster home, I also like to stick really close to my foster mom's heels, I don't get under her feet, just want to be sure wherever she goes, I know exactly where she is. After all she might be getting something to eat and I wouldn't want her to have to eat alone. I met some other dogs and they were not as cool as me, but I would hang with them. I also met a couple of cats, Whoa! they were weird. Once I got to spend a little time with them it wasn't a big deal though. My foster dog brother is coolamundo, but I haven't figured him out just yet. This "play" thing is a mystery to me.

I've met a bunch of humans and THAT is where I belong. With my people. I am a little cautious at first but as soon as I realize you're not going to mess with my hair, I give you the big thumbs up, only I do it with my tongue and hope for a treat in return.

I'm affectionate but not over the top. I do love to cuddle up in bed early in the morning. I'll snuggle into your arm for a moment of one on one love. I will get sleepy though as you scratch me and I'll probably fall back to sleep for a bit if there's time. On a final note, I have to say that I also happen to be an amazing jumper.
