Violet had been living on a chain and kept getting loose. As a result, she got pregnant. Her owners surrendered her to a rural high-kill shelter in SC because they had too many dogs (yet they decided to keep two of her puppies). This cutie is very sweet and does not know what she did wrong to end up in a shelter.

We are not sure what she is mixed with, but she has a short tail. At some point, Violet broke her tail. Now it is shaped like an L. She also has lots of scar tissue on her ears. But despite her past neglect, Violet is very friendly and wags her stumpy tail whenever someone pays attention to her. She likes being around people. Violet will make someone a wonderful companion.

Violet needs a caring home and person or family. Can you provide this happy girl with a new life off of a chain? She'll give you all the love her heart can hold. Please apply to foster or adopt Ivy today.

The adoption fee for this dog is $300, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and a microchip. Some animals cost more than others to rescue, so our adult animal adoption fees range from $275-$350. The adoption fee imposed for each animal is based on: fees paid to the shelter, vetting costs, transport costs, and boarding costs.

Be sure to ask us about getting a free 30-minute phone consult with a professional dog trainer within the first 30 days of adopting - just for HT adopters. Start your new dog out on the right foot with this valuable, expert advice and guidance FREE!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out information about fostering on our website at http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/pet-foster-forms/.

Thank you for contacting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!
